Koperasi Pendidikan Malaysia Berhad (KPMB) has allocated RM15 million this year as an education financing fund to assist 1,500 students from asnaf families, orphans, and low-income (B40) households to pursue studies in the fields of security and investigation.
The allocation is channelled through a strategic collaboration between KPMB and Kolej Pengajian Keselamatan Penyiasatan Malaysia (KPKPM), aimed at easing the financial burden of parents and guardians.
KPMB Chairman Datuk Shamsudin Mat said the scholarship initiative is intended to ensure that more students are given the opportunity to further their education at higher levels.

“Education is a long-term investment for the nation. Through this initiative, we are able to provide sustainable, competitive, and employability-oriented education pathways,” he said when met at a press conference today.
KPKPM offers industry-oriented training, aligned with real labour market needs and national security requirements. Among the academic and training programmes offered are Diploma in Policing, Diploma in Immigration and Border Control, Diploma in Anti-Corruption and Governance, Diploma in Law Enforcement, as well as the Malaysian Skills Certificate in Security Services Operations.
Shamsudin explained that educational programmes under KPKPM help enhance students’ understanding of laws and regulations, thereby reducing the risk of abuse of power in enforcement duties.

Each student from the asnaf and orphan categories will receive financing of RM16,450, equivalent to 50 per cent of registration and diploma tuition fees, allowing them to commence studies without any upfront payment to the college.
Meanwhile, students from the B40 group are only required to pay RM2,900 as registration fees and will receive 30 per cent financing support from KPMB.
In addition, Shamsudin noted that the cooperative is currently at the final planning stage to introduce credit facilities or easy loan schemes for its members who require financial assistance to support their children’s educational needs.
