DHS Hospitality Academy Launches East Coast Hub in Strategic Partnership with UMK Holdings Sdn. Bhd.

Kelantan, Malaysia — UMK Holdings Sdn. Bhd. today marked a significant milestone with the official launch of the DHS East Coast Hub, established through a strategic partnership with DHS Hospitality Academy Sdn. Bhd. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and sustainable economic growth, with a strong focus on Kelantan and the East Coast region.

The partnership introduces a range of fully sponsored hospitality education and training programs, designed to create real and inclusive pathways to employment and leadership within the hospitality and tourism industry.

For youths from Kelantan and the East Coast, the initiative offers a fully sponsored Diploma in Hospitality in Singapore, inclusive of living allowances. The program provides international exposure and industry-recognized qualifications, equipping participants with global competencies and practical experience. Recognizing the importance of accessibility, a 12-month fully sponsored hospitality training program in Malaysia is also available for those who prefer to remain closer to home—ensuring no talent is excluded due to geography or circumstance.

In addition, the partnership introduces two career-focused programs targeted at unemployed graduates:

  • A 24-month Management Training Program in Singapore, aimed at developing future leaders in the hospitality industry; and
  • A 12-month international internship program in Kazakhstan, offering hands-on industry experience and global exposure.

“These initiatives are not merely educational programs—they are long-term investments in our youth,” UMK Holdings said. “Youth development is fundamental to Kelantan’s future, particularly in the hospitality and tourism sector, which plays a critical role in economic growth, job creation, and regional competitiveness.”

By equipping local talent with international exposure—whether in Singapore, Kazakhstan, or across West Malaysia—the partnership aims to develop a workforce that is skilled, confident, and globally competitive, creating lasting benefits not only for individuals but for Kelantan as a whole.

Beyond training and education, UMK Holdings and DHS Hospitality Academy are committed to strengthening the regional hospitality ecosystem. Kelantan will be positioned as a Learning Hub, with DHS conducting eight industry seminars throughout 2026. These seminars will focus on upskilling, innovation, and future-ready practices for hospitality and tourism players across the East Coast.

Looking ahead, the partners also announced their intention to organize the East Coast Tourism Summit, a high-level platform that will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, educators, and investors. The summit will spotlight tourism’s role in Kelantan’s development, explore emerging opportunities, and foster stronger collaboration across the East Coast tourism ecosystem.

“Today is not just about launching a partnership—it is about building futures, creating opportunities, and positioning Kelantan as a regional leader in hospitality and tourism excellence,” UMK Holdings added.

UMK Holdings and DHS Hospitality Academy look forward to this long-term collaboration as they work together to empower youth, strengthen the hospitality industry, and drive sustainable growth for Kelantan and the East Coast region.
